 1) What is an ePrint?

An ePrint is a PDF (Portable Document Format) file encrypted with security measures. These security measures are put in place to control whether or not the Adobe Reader will open or print the PDF depending on the permissions granted by the publisher.

2) Why do I need to download the FileOpen Plug-In just to access my ePrint?

The first time you utilize this new program you must have a plug-in for File Open Web Publisher to view your ePrint. The plug-in needed for accessing your ePrint is safe and only needs to be installed once. This allows us to produce secure PDF's according to the trusted Adobe PDF specification.

 3) Do I need to install the plug-in every time I view an ePrint?

No. After you have installed the plug-in once, you will not need to install it again.

 4) Why am I unable to open the ePrint PDF?

A) Make sure you follow all the steps on the ePrint delivery page and you have installed the FileOpen plug-in.
B) Check your Internet Connection, you need to have a live connection to open your ePrint.
C) If you are still unable to open the ePrint, please contact your sales representative and they will be able to assist you.

 5) Do I need to be connected to the internet in order to access my ePrint?

Yes, an Internet Connection is necessary to view and print the ePrint.

6) Can I email my ePrint to someone else?

You can only email your ePrint to others if you have purchased rights to do so. Be sure to let your sales representative know how you intend to use and/or distribute the ePrint you are purchasing. If you are unsure of the rights you have purchased, please contact your sales representative to confirm.

 7) Can I place the ePrint onto my web page?

You can store the PDF on your web server and link to it as you would any other file. We can also lock the file so it can only be accessed from your web server and not downloaded and distributed. Be sure to let your sales representative know how you intend to use and/or distribute the ePrint you are purchasing.

For detailed instructions on how to place the web ePrint onto your webpage, please visit our Webmaster Assistance Page.

 8) Where can I find my ePrint identification code (ePrint ID)?

You can find your ePrint ID in the subject line and body of the email within which you received your ePrint link. If you have questions regarding your ePrint product or number, please don't hesitate to contact your sales representative.

 9) I am having trouble printing my ePrint, why?

You can print your ePrint if the type of ePrint you have purchased includes rights to do so. Be sure to let your sales representative know how you intend to use and/or distribute the ePrint you are purchasing. If you are unsure of the rights you have purchased, please contact your sales representative to confirm.

If the ePrint you purchased does include rights to print, please ensure your connection to the Internet is live, as you need a live connection to print your ePrint.

 10) Can Visitors download the ePrint from my web page?

To protect the copyrighted material within the ePrint you have purchased, as well as the editorial integrity and value of content, most ePrints are not available with downloadable rights to end users.

 11) Can I re-save my ePrint?

No. The ePrint is locked and it cannot be re-saved nor can any changes be made to the ePrint.

 12) Are there any special requirements for the ePrint to work properly?

To view your ePrint you will need to have Adobe Acrobat (or Adobe Reader) version 5.0 or above on your system with Windows 2000/XP, Mac OS9 or Mac OSX Platform.
